Received Doctorate in educational leadership from NAU
Just a little bit about myself…I was born in Marengo, Iowa the son of a high school teacher (father) and nurse (mother). I received my schooling in a small farming town in Northeast Iowa. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in elementary education, my master’s degree and doctorate from Northern Arizona University in educational leadership.
I moved to Tuba City in 1996 and began my teaching career. I taught 14 years with the Tuba City Unified School District grades 2-6 and was a principal for 11 years on four different campuses.
In addition to spending time with students, staff and families, I am an avid sports fan. I enjoy spending time with my three children in the outdoors. Some of the activities we are fond of are swimming, camping and hiking; as well as road trips to new destinations.

I have been at Maine School since 2022 as the Maintenance Coordinator. I am originally from Rushville, Indiana (home of Tony Stewart) but I have been living in Northern Arizona since 2018. I have mechanic experience and find enjoyment in fixing things. My pastimes include working on cars, hunting, and spending time with family.
Hello! My name is Lisa Cruz this will be my first year at Maine Consolidated and I couldn’t be more excited! I look forward to a fun filled year.
I am a current student at Coconino Community College working towards an Early Childhood Education Associates Degree. I live in Williams with my husband. I enjoy spending time with family, hiking with my two dogs, kayaking and baking.
Hello! My name is Mrs. Bree. This is my second year here at Maine Consolidated working in preschool. I have been working in education for about 6 years. I have 3 children of my own and live in Williams along with my husband and sweet doggy. I am a big sports fan and love everything sports! My husband and I have coached sports in Williams since 2019 and love doing so. In my downtime I enjoy fishing, hiking, hunting, camping- all the outdoors stuff! I am currently working towards my bachelors degree in early childhood education and special education and plan to graduate from Grand Canyon University next year. I’m looking forward to another great year as a Maine Mustang!
I have lived in Flagstaff since age 9, attending Killip, MEMS and Coconino before graduating from NAU. My husband and I have been married 33 years. We raised 3 daughters in Flagstaff, and now have 5 grandkids scattered across the Phoenix valley. My husband and I built our home 3 miles from Maine Consolidated in 2020.
I have spent the past 7 years as a classroom aide at Flagstaff Junior Academy in Flagstaff. I worked in all the classrooms – preschool to 4th grade. This past year, I was also the math teacher for both 3rd grade and 1st grade, completed the Move On When Reading assessments, worked recess duty, parent pick-up, and was the substitute for most of the teachers since subs were so hard to find this year. I loved the variation my day brought every time I walked on to campus!
When I am not at work, I love hanging out with our family, especially my littles! I like to relax by listening to Christian music while sewing or crocheting, taking my Great Dane for walks, or reading something related to History.
I look forward to working at Maine Consolidated this school year!
classroom! I have been lucky enough to teach here at Maine School for 26 years. This is my 17th
year teaching First Grade. First Grade is such an exciting year. We will be learning so many new
things. I am looking forward to working with you and your child as they become confident readers
and writers!
I received my Bachelor’s of Science Degree from Northern Arizona University in 1998. I live in
Williams with my husband and our 3 dogs. I have 2 grown children, Colton and Tate. I enjoy
spending time with my family and friends, hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
Mr. Zink graduated from California State Northridge and Chapman University with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies.
Mr. Zink was born in California in 1959. He grew up on a farm in a small town and has always loved the outdoors and hard work. His interests include hunting, hiking, working with metal and raising animals and kids. He has been a teacher for 34 years; fourteen of those have been at Maine Consolidated. He has 9 kids, 7 grandkids and a wonderful wife of 36 years. In his spare time he loves to create art and work at Bearizona.
Welcome to 5th grade! My name is Rachel Teller and I am excited to have your child in my class. I was born and raised in Flagstaff AZ and graduated from NAU with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I previously taught a combo 4th/5th grade class for 6 years, this will be my first year at Maine. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy reading, being outside whether it is camping, hiking, fishing or spending time with my dog Daisey. I look forward to watching your child grow this school year!
My name is Sara and I am number 7 of 8 daughters! Half of us, the younger 4, are all educators! I graduated from NAU with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and have been an Arizona teacher for over 2 decades.
I became an Arizona Master Teacher and won Yavapai County Teacher of the Year in 2016. I have taught numerous subjects and worked as an Intervention Specialist. Most of my teaching has been spent with middle school students.
I have three amazing children and we love adventures together! Whether it is going to the beach, a concert, taking a road trip or heading to Disneyland, spending time with my kids is my favorite thing to do! I also love traveling and have visited several amazing countries and look forward to exploring many more!
I am so excited to join the team here at Maine Consolidated School and look forward to an amazing first year together! Middle school is a challenging and rewarding time where students hone in on the skills they will utilize as they head toward high school. I am here to support our students on their educational journey and I am confident we will have fun along the way!
teacher. If you are going into 7th grade, I will also be your homeroom teacher. I was born in Phoenix,
Arizona and lived there for 36 years. I went to Arizona State University where I received my
Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Middle School Mathematics.
This will be my 3rd year at Maine and my 18th year of teaching. We moved to Bellemont because
my husband repairs electronics for Camp Navajo for the Arizona Army National Guard and
because our daughter is attending NAU. My husband and I like to go RVing with our dog. I also love
to crochet little stuffed animals. We are going to have a great year together.
I am an Arizona native; born and raised in Fredonia, Arizona. I attended Northern Arizona University after high school, receiving an undergraduate degree in History. Later, I completed teacher certification through Rio Salado College and began teaching in 2013. I taught high school for 2 years before coming to Maine Consolidated School. This is my eighth year teaching Middle School Language Arts in Parks.
I live in Williams, AZ with my husband and have four wonderful children plus a son-in-law and daughter-in-law; four of these six are currently attending NAU. My all-time favorite thing is spending time with my family at the beach. I also love to run and enjoy baking, reading, and working in my yard.
I started at Maine Consolidated during the 23/24 school year, and I am excited to be back. I live in Parks with my family and love being a part of the community here. In my free time I enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
I was born in Anchorage, Alaska, and after moving to various locations I ended up in Northern Arizona in 2003 and have been here since. I have 2 grown children, 8 grandkids, 17ish great-grand kids and 2 dogs, Phoebe and Zoe. I am a certified masseuse, and a fun fact about me is I have an in space-level soldering certificate. I have been at MCSD for 21 years, and I love working with kids and seeing them grow up. I was the pervious food director for 10+years. Now you’ll find me around campus, but mostly in the cafeteria with Ms. Phyllis.
San Diego but I moved to Williams my freshman year of high school in 2007; and I have been
here since! I currently live in Flagstaff with my girlfriend and our 2 year old cat, Hennessy. I love
soccer, music, traveling and getting out of my comfort zone. Family is everything but my friends
are also very dear to my heart. It has been a pleasure getting to know all the children and
watching them grow into great people these last five years. Come say hello if you happen to see
me around.
I grew up in Tucson, Arizona. I needed a change of scenery so I headed up to Flagstaff after high school to attend NAU in 2000. I graduated with my Bachelor degree in Elementary Education. After several years of being away from family I decided to return to Tucson. I then met my husband and decided to stay. I had our first daughter while attending an NAU Distance Learning program for my Master’s in School Counseling. Shortly after I unexpectedly had twins! We spent the first few years raising our children in Tucson while my husband worked for TEP. With a new job opportunity with APS in 2016 we packed up the family and moved back to Northern Arizona. We have 2 Labrador Retrievers, Hank and Yogi, and a kitten named Lola. In my spare time I love being outside, going on adventures with my family and spending time at our property in Parks. My oldest daughter is 13 and attends Basis Flagstaff. My twins are 11 and will be in 6th grade at Maine!
I am so happy to be raising my family in this beautiful town, and can’t wait to meet you all.
I have an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and started working here as a sub teacher in 2012 and have been in the ESS position for about 6 years. I have been in Arizona since 2007. Things I like to do: keep learning fun- even when it’s hard, and use glitter! Outside school, being at Lake Havasu, crossword puzzles, riding the ATV in the woods, reading, and finding treasures at thrift stores.
