Born and raised in Southern California, but I have lived in AZ since 2003. I had both of my kids attend Maine School, from kinder-8th grade. I have been employed at our school since 2013. Working at Maine School has created, and continues to create so many relationships and friendships, and I will always treasure the genuine people in my life. I love volleyball and enjoy coaching our middle-school girls’ volleyball team and have done so since 2016. Things that interest me: I am a Christian, my family and friends are super important to me, I play the piano by ear (also create my own music), paint/draw, and I am pretty crafty. You could say coffee and iced tea are my drinks of choice, love dogs, I am a plant lady (can never have too many plants, right?), love beautiful landscapes, new adventures and I love to travel.

Originally from Philadelphia, Miss Componovo moved to Arizona in 2018 in search of the freedom and artistic inspiration found in the Southwest. She attended Yavapai College and Northern Arizona University, earning the All-Arizona Scholarship and excelling in her studies.

Her favorite medium is oil painting, but she loves experimenting with a variety of materials and encourages her students to do the same. Before becoming a teacher, she spent over a decade working in the equine industry. In her free time, she enjoys being with her horse, donkey, and Corgi.

Her teaching philosophy centers around the belief that every student deserves the opportunity to explore visual arts, experiment freely, and express themselves authentically. She firmly believes that engaging in the arts not only nurtures creativity but also enhances academic performance and supports social and emotional development..

I was born in Louisiana, been married 51 years to my high school boy friend. I have 2 daughters, 9 grandkids, and 3 great grandsons. I have been in Arizona since 2004. I have worked at Maine school since 2005. I started out as the custodian and moved on to Cafeteria. I try to feed the students meals that are healthy and will help their minds and bodies grow.

I was raised in Parks from the age of 7yo. I went to school at Maine Consolidated. I raised all four of my children here in Parks. In 1999 when my youngest started Kindergarten, I started working at the school as an Aid in his classroom. I also started training to become a bus driver. I left the school in April  2014, then returned in Aug. of 2018.

I have lived in Flagstaff since age 9, attending Killip, MEMS and Coconino before graduating from NAU. My husband and I have been married 33 years. We raised 3 daughters in Flagstaff, and now have 5 grandkids scattered across the Phoenix valley. My husband and I built our home 3 miles from Maine Consolidated in 2020.

I have spent the past 7 years as a classroom aide at Flagstaff Junior Academy in Flagstaff. I worked in all the classrooms – preschool to 4th grade. This past year, I was also the math teacher for both 3rd grade and 1st grade, completed the Move On When Reading assessments, worked recess duty, parent pick-up, and was the substitute for most of the teachers since subs were so hard to find this year. I loved the variation my day brought every time I walked on to campus!

When I am not at work, I love hanging out with our family, especially my littles! I like to relax by listening to Christian music while sewing or crocheting, taking my Great Dane for walks, or reading something related to History.

I look forward to working at Maine Consolidated this school year!

Mr. Zink graduated from California State Northridge and Chapman University with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies.

Mr. Zink was born in California in 1959. He grew up on a farm in a small town and has always loved the outdoors and hard work. His interests include hunting, hiking, working with metal and raising animals and kids. He has been a teacher for 34 years; fourteen of those have been at Maine Consolidated. He has 9 kids, 7 grandkids and a wonderful wife of 36 years. In his spare time he loves to create art and work at Bearizona.

Welcome to 5th grade! My name is Rachel Teller and I am excited to have your child in my class. I was born and raised in Flagstaff AZ and graduated from NAU with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education. I previously taught a combo 4th/5th grade class for 6 years, this will be my first year at Maine. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy reading, being outside whether it is camping, hiking, fishing or spending time with my dog Daisey. I look forward to watching your child grow this school year!

My name is Sara and I am number 7 of 8 daughters! Half of us, the younger 4, are all educators! I graduated from NAU with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education and have been an Arizona teacher for over 2 decades.

I became an Arizona Master Teacher and won Yavapai County Teacher of the Year in 2016. I have taught numerous subjects and worked as an Intervention Specialist. Most of my teaching has been spent with middle school students.

I have three amazing children and we love adventures together! Whether it is going to the beach, a concert, taking a road trip or heading to Disneyland, spending time with my kids is my favorite thing to do! I also love traveling and have visited several amazing countries and look forward to exploring many more!

I am so excited to join the team here at Maine Consolidated School and look forward to an amazing first year together! Middle school is a challenging and rewarding time where students hone in on the skills they will utilize as they head toward high school. I am here to support our students on their educational journey and I am confident we will have fun along the way!

Welcome to Middle School! My name is Kendra Beatty and I will be your 6th, 7th, or 8th grade math
teacher. If you are going into 7th grade, I will also be your homeroom teacher. I was born in Phoenix,
Arizona and lived there for 36 years. I went to Arizona State University where I received my
Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Middle School Mathematics.
This will be my 3rd year at Maine and my 18th year of teaching. We moved to Bellemont because
my husband repairs electronics for Camp Navajo for the Arizona Army National Guard and
because our daughter is attending NAU. My husband and I like to go RVing with our dog. I also love
to crochet little stuffed animals. We are going to have a great year together.

I am an Arizona native; born and raised in Fredonia, Arizona. I attended Northern Arizona University after high school, receiving an undergraduate degree in History. Later, I completed teacher certification through Rio Salado College and began teaching in 2013. I taught high school for 2 years before coming to Maine Consolidated School. This is my eighth year teaching Middle School Language Arts in Parks.

I live in Williams, AZ with my husband and have four wonderful children plus a son-in-law and daughter-in-law; four of these six are currently attending NAU. My all-time favorite thing is spending time with my family at the beach. I also love to run and enjoy baking, reading, and working in my yard.

Miss. Cauthen graduated from Shorter University in Georgia with a Bachelor in Piano Pedagogy (private teaching) and then went on to receive her Bachelor’s of Music Education and Masters of Music in Teaching from NAU. She has worked at Maine Consolidated School for 23 years teaching music, Spanish, band, choir, Character Counts, Mindfulness, Odyssey of the Mind, as well as gardening. She is prolific about attending continuing education classes and trainings for teachers. Her philosophy is that every student should experience and enjoy making music. The human brain lights up and engages when experiencing music and language development. Music and language learning are imperative on their own and open a completely new world to students. Her hopes and dreams are that students can bring their own music to the world and speak in multiple languages to share it. Her favorite activities in class is learning how to play the music, having students design and create their own instruments, reading novels in Spanish, and preparing to play with the symphony at the annual field trip to the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra.

I started at Maine Consolidated during the 23/24 school year, and I am excited to be back. I live in Parks with my family and love being a part of the community here. In my free time I enjoy cooking, baking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
