My name is Kodi Mortensen and I have been a resident in the Parks community for 23 years. I am married to Troy Mortensen and I have 5 children that all attend or attended Maine School and all have been very successful that have graduated. I still have 2 children attending school, one at Maine and the other is in High School. I have been involved with the PTO, coaching sports teams, substituting as a teacher, and other volunteer positions. I began my position on the school board in 2022. My profession is in accounting and I am also involved in some personal companies with real estate and landscaping but my favorite profession is being a mom. The Parks community has some great citizens that live here and the school has played a special role in my life and so I hope to serve as a member on the board to give back to the community and teachers and help to make it better for all.
As a Parks resident for the past 16 years and attending Maine Consolidated, I found that I wanted to give back to the school and join the Board to help serve the students, faculty and community of Parks. Living here in Parks has been the greatest experience of my life thus far and want to keep this community engaged and tight-knit. I received a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Northern Arizona University and a minor in Biology. I want to help the school as much as humanly possible achieve the highest expectations and even excel those expectations by striving for a happy, healthy and growing environment that puts education first.
Just a little bit about myself…I was born in Marengo, Iowa the son of a high school teacher (father) and nurse (mother). I received my schooling in a small farming town in Northeast Iowa. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in elementary education, my master’s degree and doctorate from Northern Arizona University in educational leadership.
I moved to Tuba City in 1996 and began my teaching career. I taught 14 years with the Tuba City Unified School District grades 2-6 and was a principal for 11 years on four different campuses.
In addition to spending time with students, staff and families, I am an avid sports fan. I enjoy spending time with my three children in the outdoors. Some of the activities we are fond of are swimming, camping and hiking; as well as road trips to new destinations.
Received Doctorate in educational leadership from NAU

I graduated from Arizona State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Special Education. I then went on to complete master’s degrees in school counseling and educational leadership. I lived in the valley since I was 8 years old and wanted a change from the city and the heat! I moved to Parks in 2020 to enjoy my retirement among the trees and the cool weather.Â
After enjoying retirement and getting settled into my new life, I found I missed teaching and the students. I returned to work at Maine in 2024 and have enjoyed getting to know the school, staff, and the community.

I was born in Rockford, Illinois and lived in many states due to being part of a military family. I have been to 48 of the 50 United States. We settled in San Diego in 1975. I’m married and have 3 beautiful children and 2 sweet grandbabies that I adore. I started working in accounts payable at Maine School in 2007. I added payroll responsibilities in 2009 and became the Business Manager in 2010.
I love a long road trip, good book, crocheting and hunting with my husband. We are huge English Football fans as well and will wake up at 4:30 am to catch a game on Saturdays. I am a wife, mother, nana but most importantly a child of God!

My name is Kaylee Sandall and it’s a privilege to serve on the school board and to be part of such a close-knit, supportive community. I’ve always had a deep love for Parks —growing up just down the road in Flagstaff, I spent plenty of time here and grew up knowing this special place well. My family and I lived in Parks about 16 years ago, and even then, we knew we wanted to end up here for good. Four years ago, we were fortunate enough to return and make Parks our home again. Our four kids now attend/have attended Maine Consolidated.Â
Being involved in our school and giving back to the community that has helped shape me and is shaping my own kids, is incredibly meaningful. I care deeply about the success of our students, the strength of our schools, and the future of Parks. It’s an honor to contribute to that future through my work on the board.
Hello, my name is Gale Daniels, originally born and raised in Illinois. Becoming a resident in Parks, Arizona in 2019. I’ve always wanted to be a part of a school board team, to be an advocate for the school and its students.
My name is Jerome Larson. I am 63 years old. I am married with two sons. I am a retired supervisor US Marshals, I have lived in Arizona over 32 years, in Parks 6 years. I grew up in a rural community in Northern Minnesota.
